NORWALK, OH (WOIO) -

A Norwalk woman is critical condition after passing out and laying unconscious for several hours in the cold.

Norwalk Police say 67-year-old Patricia Terry was found by a neighbor laying in her driveway on Benedict Avenue. The neighbor and her son quickly covered Terry with their coats and called 911.

When rescue crews arrived they say Terry was having trouble breathing, and that ice had formed on and around her mouth.

Terry was rushed to the Fisher-Titus Emergency Department, where doctors told police that Terry was "almost frozen solid."

She was later life-flighted to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where she is now awake and able to speak.

A spokesperson says Terry told hospital staff that she remembers losing her keys while walking between her garage and home, and that she blacked out from the frigid temperatures.

Norwalk police say there was an icy patch on the ground near Terry when they found her.
