Doctors say freezing temperatures are causing breathing problems in northeast Ohio.
Dr Matthew Tabbut with MetroHealth Medical Center said he has seen a boost in the number of patients coming to the emergency room for
breathing problems, including asthma and COPD.
"One of the things that aggravate some of the respiratory problems people can have is cold weather. So this time of year we see a lot of people coming in complaining of wheezing and shortness of breath," he said.
Dr. Tabbut said precautions must be taken to keep you safe.
"So it's very important to stay bundled up. Wear plenty of clothes," said Tabbut.
And when all else fails, Dr. Tabbut says to do the obvious and stay inside.
