Kendrick Perkins and Cavaliers agree to terms

and free agent Kendrick Perkins have officially agreed to terms.

Perkins was traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Utah Jazz for Enes Kanter and Steve Novack. The Jazz decided to buy out his contract, making him a free agent. Perkins cleared waivers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Perkins brings additional size and toughness to the Cavaliers who have won 15 of their last 17 games.

Perkins, 30, is playing in his 13th season in the NBA. He spent the first part of his career with the Boston Celtics where he won a championship in 2008. In 2011 he was traded to the Thunder. Perkins averages 5.6 points, 6 rebounds a game for his career.

On February 21, Perkins changed his Twitter bio to "The Land!!!!! #Cavs" and also tweeted, "I'm on my way!" and tagged multiple Cavaliers including LeBron James.

The Cavs say Perkins will play tonight against the Detroit Pistons. He will wear the number 3.
