FAIRLAWN, OH (WOIO) - Sunday morning, around 10:30 a.m., members of the Fairlawn Police Department were looking at security cameras and watched a white male get in Fairlawn City Hall, through a locked door not commonly used by the general public or employees.
Upon investigating, Sgt. Anthony S. Agoston, observed the male in the foyer area between the exterior and interior doors of the main entrance to the building.
The subject had gained entry into the city's medication drop off box and was sifting through the discarded medications.
Sgt. Agoston immediately recognized the man as Robert A. Buza Jr., a former member of the Fairlawn Police Department.
He immediately instructed Buza to return the discarded prescriptions to the drop box and personally made sure it was locked and secured.
Buza was detained by police in order to recover the keys he used to get in and then they let him leave.
Buza, who retired from the Fairlawn Police Department on July 19, 2013, was charged with breaking and entering, safecracking and attempted theft.
