We tried to contact First Energy for an explanation of what caused the outage but were unable to reach a spokesperson.
One resident called our newsroom with great concern about the loss of electricity. She says in addition to being cold, her medical condition calls the use of oxygen and she can't go much longer without a power source.
The woman says that she received a notice from the company stating that the time of restoration would be 12:30 p.m. but that was later pushed back to 3:30 p.m. She worries that she'll have to pay for a hotel room she can't afford, for the sake of her health.
