Valet hit and run victim speaks out

Banged up, bruised and left lying in the road, 24-year old Daniils Mamedovs can't remember what happened to him.

His wounds tell part of the troubling story.

"My face, my body, my lower back. Can't explain how bad it is but it's pretty bad," says Mamedovs.

Mamedovs was working at The 9 Hotel downtown Saturday night. Police say he was holding the door open for a valet customer when a car going northbound on East 9th Street struck and ran over him, then took off.

"I usually take care of customers inside but I don't know how I ended up outside," explains Mamedovs.

Crews rushed Mamedovs to MetroHealth Medical Center in critical condition.

Now police are searching for a blue Nissan Rogue SUV. A woman was behind the wheel.

Investigators are also looking into surveillance video.

"God is looking out for me I guess. Just trying to get better that's all," explains Mamedovs.

While he tries to recover from his injuries, the valet has a message for the person who ran him over and never looked back.

"I'm not angry at them I don't know what I would do in their situation," says Mamedovs.

Mamedovs says he wants to go back to work.

If you have any information that could help find the driver, call Cleveland Police.
