The dog named Memphis was a mastiff. On Jan. 31, police received an anonymous tip about animal cruelty. When officers arrived in the area of Euclid Avenue and River Industrial Pkwy in Lorain, they found the dog hanging by a choke chain collar from the side of a parked truck.
Daughney, 36, said he adopted the dog from a neighbor. He told police he hanged the dog because it was aggressive with his other pets and he did not want to take care of it anymore.
Daughney will be sentenced March 25 at 1 p.m.
