SUMMIT COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - Over the past three weeks, the Summit County Sheriff's Office has received several calls from citizens regarding attempted scams on the telephone.
The callers have indicated that they have received calls from an individual claiming to be a representative from the Summit County Sheriff's Office.
The potential victims were informed that they have an outstanding arrest warrant because of a traffic citation or because they missed jury duty. They were then instructed to purchase a gift card or meet the caller in person to further discuss the matter.
