LOUDONVILLE, OH (WOIO) - Elliot Gornall, a former teacher in the Loudonville-Perrysville School District in Ashland County, pleaded not guilty to charges he used a camera to take videos of his kindergarten students while they used the bathroom.

Ashland County Prosecutor Chris Tunnell claims that from August to November 2014, Gornall used a pinpoint spy camera to record his students at McMullen Elementary.

Gornall's bond was set at $500,000 cash.

Tunnell alleges there were 63 videos of his kindergarten students on Gornall's computer.

Bill Caley is the father of one of the alleged victims.

"My son knows, I don't lie to my son. I'm not going to hold it in and keep it from him because he deserves to know," said Caley, "It will be hard for a little while, it's heartbreaking."

Tunnell does not believe Gornall sexually assaulted any of the children.

"We aren't in possession of any information that would indicate that he touched or molested any children," Tunnell said.

Gornall was arrested in 2014 on a felony drug charge. When the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted a forensic investigation of Gornall's computer they discovered the videos.

There was no evidence that Gornall uploaded the videos to the Internet.

"I think the thing that most hits everybody and really resonates about the case is the extreme betrayal of trust," Tunnell said.

According to the prosecutor, BCI also found hundreds of pictures of child pornography on Gornall's computer.

The case now goes to the Ashland County grand jury.
