Future comes into view at Cedar Point

SANDUSKY, OH (WOIO) - The future is coming into view at the Hotel Breakers, where crews are working to get rooms ready for the upcoming season at

19 Action News got a sneak peek inside the 511 room hotel Tuesday.

"It's been here since 1905 and we really want to kind of meld the two experiences together. You see the infusion of the bright colors and headboards with the Cedar Point pictures," says Bryan Edwards with Cedar Point.

In addition to the colors, the chairs in Hotel Breakers' rooms are made with more than 100 recycled Coke bottles.

Edwards tells us the changes will make the park an even better experience. The hotel is just steps away from the beach and rides.

The Rougarou is one of 17 roller coasters at Cedar Point. The new ride is designed to give thrill seekers a unique experience they won't forget.

More than 30 people can fit on the trains that just arrived at the park a couple of days ago. Soon they'll be put on the coaster's tracks. When the ride is ready to go, it will reach speeds of more than 60 miles per hour.

"The seats actually elevated off the top of the trains. So you're legs are dangling your arms are dangling. You can really get a unique sensation riding that coaster," explains Edwards.

Cedar Point opens on May 9.
