Xavier Ford threw down 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, and the Buffalo Bulls shook off a sluggish start to beat the Akron Zips, 68-59 on Friday night, and move into Saturday's MAC Conference tournament final.
Neither team shot well, as the Zips finished shooting 37% from the field, while the Bulls shot only 36%. But Buffalo had four players finish in double figures, including Shannon Evans, who added 14 points.
Jake Kretzer led Akron (21-14) with 12 points.
The Bulls will take on Central Michigan at the "Q" on Saturday, with a trip to the NCAA Tournament at stake.
