Early morning violence in Cleveland's fourth district

The Cleveland Division of Police Fourth District Detective Bureau is currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday, March 14, around 4 a.m.

Officers responded to MetroHealth Medical Center for a victim of a gunshot wound who'd been brought to the emergency room in a private car.

The victim told police that he was at Club Tiko at 3550 E. 93rd street when a fight broke out and people began fleeing the bar.

The victim reported that as he and his girlfriend were leaving the bar an unknown man grabbed her, which led to an argument between the men.

According to the victim, the stranger crossed the street toward a vacant field where other men stood, and began firing.

Victim could not identify the suspect but stated that he may have fled in a red vehicle with chrome rims.

Within an hour, Fourth District Officers would also begin investigating another shooting at the Marathon Gas Station at 7310 Broadway Avenue.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m.

Officers who were dispatched to the gas station soon learned that another zone car had responded to

for a victim of a gunshot wound to the stomach who was brought to the ER in a private vehicle.

Witnesses report that a group of men entered the gas station and began speaking with a group of women before an argument ensued between the men and another male.

After the group of males walked out of the store and into the parking lot, witnesses heard four to five gunshots.

Patrons in the store say they dropped to the floor to take cover.

The group re-entered the store, witnesses say they heard four to five more shots, at which point one of the males inside of the store took off his sweatshirt and revealed that he was hit in the stomach. He was driven away in a private vehicle.

One lucky patron only had damage to his vehicle to report to police as a result of the shooting.
