SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - Beginning on Monday, March 16, 2015, there will be scheduled traffic pattern changes and lane closures on Warrensville Center Road and Chagrin Boulevard.
Northbound traffic on Warrensville Center Road in front of University Hospitals Management Services Center will be shifted to the west portion of the roadway, with one lane in each direction, including a left turn lane to travel west onto Chagrin Boulevard. Chagrin Boulevard traffic, from Lomond Boulevard to Helen Road, will be shifted to the south portion of the roadway, with one lane in each direction.
The current left turn lane from Chagrin Boulevard westbound to Warrensville Center Road southbound will be eliminated. In addition, Van Aken Boulevard, between Farnsleigh Road and Chagrin Boulevard/Warrensville Center Road intersection, will be closed to all traffic, with the exception of RTA bus traffic.
These lane closures are part of the Warrensville Center Road/Van Aken Roadway Reconfiguration Project, as a part of the City of Shaker Heights' long-term economic development plans. The Project will reconstruct the existing six-leg intersection to create a more conventional and much safer four-leg intersection. The new intersection will carry traffic east/west on Chagrin Boulevard and north/south on Warrensville Center Road. Please use extreme caution in this area, slow down and follow the posted signage. Expect delays.
We thank you for your patience during the Warrensville Center Road/Van Aken Roadway Reconfiguration Project. We apologize for the inconvenience this project may have on your commute. Once the project is completed, we will all benefit from a smoother and safer roadway.
