The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has announced the capture of fugitive Maurice Stewart.

Around 12:45 p.m. Friday, the NOVFTF, along with the Cleveland Police Department and Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority Police Department, arrested 23-year-old Stewart. He was found hiding under a bathroom sink.

Stewart was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and Cleveland Police Department for aggravated robbery with a firearm. On Nov. 8, 2014, authorities say Stewart and DeAngelo Scott robbed two victims in the area of New York Avenue and Warner Road. Shortly after the robbery, Scott was arrested and Stewart fled on foot during a vehicle stop. The loaded semi-automatic rifle used in the robbery was found in the vehicle, along with two children under the age of 9.

If you have information on the whereabouts of a known fugitive, contact the NOVFTF at 1-866-4WANTED or text the keyword "WANTED" with the tip to TIP411. Tipsters can remain anonymous and reward money is available.
