Cleveland Gladiators 2015 season begins Friday

The Gladiators are heading into their eighth season as the

and they're coming off their best season yet. The Gladiators went 17-1 in 2014 and reached the Arena Bowl Championship game, but would lose to the Arizona Rattlers 72-32.

Returning this year is quarterback Shane Austin who piled up 4,478 passing yards, 99 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Austin was third in the league for total offensive touchdowns with 111.

Two of the top three wide receivers are back including Dominick Goodman who led the team with 156 catches for 1,671 yards and 34 touchdowns. Collin Taylor brought in 80 catches for 976 yards and 20 touchdowns. The team lost receiver Thyron Lewis in the offseason to the Los Angeles Kiss, Lewis piled up 1,525 yards and 37 touchdowns for the Gladiators in 2014.

The Gladiators will be in the East Division of the American Conference. The

The Gladiators open the 2015 season in Tampa Bay against the Storm this Friday. The first home game for the Gladiators will be a Arena Bowl rematch on Saturday, April 11, against the Arizona Rattlers.
