(WOIO) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is saying goodbye to one of its successful K-9s.
Roy, a canine unit from the Bucyrus District, passed away on March 19 at the age of 13.
Roy was born in September 2001 in Holland.
In 2003, he began his career with K-9 handler Trooper Gary Wolfe. He retired in the fall 2011.
According to the OSHP, Roy seized more than $1 million in illegal drugs and U.S. currency during his eight-year career.
