YOUNGSTOWN, OH (WOIO) - An early morning fire on Powers Way in Youngstown left three people dead Monday. According to officials, just after 3 a.m., firefighters responded to the 3600 block of Powers Way for a report of a house fire with people inside.

The fire started overnight in the basement, claiming the lives of a 10-year-old girl and her grandparents.

"All I know is there was an explosion in the basement and a fire immediately erupted," said Connie Glozer, the great aunt of the 10-year-old girl.

The girl, according to Mahoning County prosecutors, is also a rape victim in a case against 46-year-old Robert Seman, of Green Township. Seman was charged in March 2014 on four counts of raping the child. He lived with the mother, who was his girlfriend.

Seman's trial was supposed to start this week, but has now been postponed.

Prosecutors are investigating claims Seman might have bribed a witness. Plus, they are looking into if the court will continue with the original rape trial now that the alleged victim is dead.
