AKRON, OH (WOIO) - The Summit County Health Department and Akron Public Schools are investigating a suspected case of tuberculosis at Jennings Middle School.

The North Akron school is on spring break this week.

In a letter to district parents, officials announced planned TB screening times.

Summit County health officials will be at the Jennings Community Learning Center to provide free skin tests on Tuesday, April 7 from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., and again Wednesday, April 8 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

If you cannot make it during those times, parents are asked to contact Summit County Public Health at (330) 375-2772 to schedule an appointment.

Tuberculosis is a potentially dangerous lung infection that can be transmitted through coughing or sneezing.
