NEW RUSSIA TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - A female driver lost her life in a single car crash in New Russia Township.
The incident occurred Saturday, April 4, shortly before 4:37 a.m.
The Elyria Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report that she was driving a 1994 Ford Explorer, headed southbound on Oberlin Road.
Information from the investigation indicate that the driver went off the right side of the road before it traveled through a ditch, sideswiped a tree, then crossed the roadway and struck another tree on the left side of the road.
After the collision, the vehicle caught fire.
Authorities said the female occupant of the vehicle died on scene.
