When Corey Kluber gets the start on opening day Monday in Houston, it will likely be the first of many more opening day starts as the ace has signed a contract extension according to multiple reports.

The two sides reportedly coming to terms on a five-year deal, keeping the reigning Cy Young Award winner in Cleveland until 2021.  The deal includes two team options, which is a big leverage point for the ball club who already had him under control until 2018.

Kluber went 18-9 with a 2.44 ERA for Cleveland last season, his first full year in the majors. He's scheduled to pitch Monday's season opener at Houston.  He will turn 29 on April 10.
