Jemerez Danzy died Easter morning in a one-car accident on Detroit Avenue near West 91st Street in Cleveland.
Danzy was on his way home to pick up his two children, when he lost control of his car and hit a tree. He was planning to attend Easter services with his family.
Danzy's parents say his children were his life.
"The night before he died he said, 'mom I know how important it is to you to have us in church. I am going. Me and the kids are going.' I hugged him and told him thank you. I wanted to hear that," said Tori Foote, Danzy's mother.
Danzy worked at the Foundry in Garfield Heights and was excited about receiving his high school diploma from Lake Erie International.
"He was supposed to graduate this week," said Foote.
Surveillance video from a nearby business shows people coming out of homes and businesses to help after the crash.
"Great guy and he is going to be really missed," said Demetrius Foote, Danzy's father.
A small memorial at the crash scene is growing.
A vigil will be held at the site on Detroit Avenue Monday at 7 p.m.
