EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Around 11:30 a.m. Friday, the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended fugitive Raymell Easter at an apartment on Nelacrest Road in East Cleveland.

The 19-year-old was wanted by the Cleveland Police Department for homicide, stemming from an incident in March 2015 near East 106th Street and Ashbury Avenue. Easter was suspected of shooting and killing a 17-year-old male after attempting to rob the victim.

The NOVFTF was notified about the fugitive investigation and began searching for Easter immediately. Easter was added to the most wanted "Dangerous Dozen" list in April and also profiled as a "Fugitive of the Week" in local media.

Within the last two weeks, the NOVFTF received a tip that ultimately led them to East Cleveland, where the team was able to locate and safely apprehend Easter. Easter was transported to the Cleveland City Jail after his arrest.

"Our task force has been relentless on these dangerous fugitive cases. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners and do all that we can to bring justice to the victims of these horrendous crimes," said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.

If you have information on the whereabouts of a known fugitive, contact the NOVFTF at 1-866-4WANTED or text keyword "WANTED" with the tip to TIP411. Tipsters can remain anonymous and reward money is available.
