On Saturday morning, runners hit the pavement in their undies to shine the spotlight on cancer.
The Colon Cancer Alliance hosted the family-friendly, underwear-themed Undy Run/Walk on at Edgewater Park on April 11 to benefit the Cleveland Clinic, the local sponsor.
Funds raised will support screening campaigns and education programs. In addition, funds will also support national prevention, research and patient support initiatives at the Colon Cancer Alliance.
Participants joined the fight against the nation's second leading cancer killer: colon cancer.
Runners received a free pair of boxer shorts and had the opportunity to stroll through a larger-than-life inflatable colon.
The event featured a 5K, 1-mile Fun Run, and concluded with a ceremony to honor those who have fought the disease.
