Ten people escape overnight house fire in East Cleveland

EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Breaking overnight a house fire in East Cleveland. It happened around 1:30 a.m. near Phillips Avenue and Bender Avenue. 

The fire partially burned two neighboring homes. Ten people safely escaped the fire. 

The cause is under investigation.    

Cleveland Fire assisted in battling the blaze. East Cleveland's only available engine was first on the scene. The city is limited to just one engine because the other fire fighting equipment is broken down.
