DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The owner of the property at 1965 East 6th Street began installing protective mesh netting around the parapet of the building Friday.

Bricks from the facade of that building fell to the street Monday during evening rush hour, crushing one vehicle and forcing several street closures.

The building, currently vacant, was recently purchased by Corning Place LLC and managed by Millennia Housing Management.

The new netting means that the westbound lanes of Euclid Avenue between East 6th Street and East 9th Street will reopen for the weekend.

However, East 6th Street between Euclid and Superior Avenue, as well as Vincent Avenue, will remail closed until further notice.
