CHICAGO (WOIO) - Trevor Bauer pitched another gem, the Indians went deep twice, and all was right on the South Side of Chicago on Monday night. Until Cody Allen took the mound in the 9th.
Allen blew a 3-0 lead, giving up four runs including a bases-loaded single to Melky Cabrera for the game-winner, as the Indians suffered a painful loss to the White Sox, 4-3 at U.S. Cellular Field.
Bauer had once again aced his test, going seven shutout innings and striking out seven, raising his strikeout total to 26 in three starts.
And Ryan Raburn and Brett Hayes both went deep, with solo home runs. Michael Brantley provided the other run with an RBI double in the third inning.
But the White Sox rallied in the 9th, as Allen just couldn't close them out.
