Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Charles Johnson attended a Minnesota girl's birthday party last weekend after the invited guest turned down their invitations.
The party that no one accepted an invitation for turned into the party of the day. Mackenzie Moretter sent out invitations that would come back unaccepted. Her mother, Jenny, took to Facebook asking for at least 10 of her friends to come with their daughters, to say they came through would be an understatement.
The power of the internet allowed nearly 300 guest to show up to Mackenzie's 10th birthday party, including Vikings wide receiver Charles Johnson. Mackenzie was diagnosed with Sotos Syndrome when she was one, which can cause kids to grow faster than normal and also cause developmental delays. "Elsa" from Frozen, a DJ, and Brad Tabke, the Mayor of Shakopee also attended Mackenzie's party.
The town's fire department brought their fire truck and Mr. Pigs Stuffed BBQ and catering donated food and beverages to serve nearly 300 people.
Johnson was signed by the Browns in 2013, the Vikings would sign Johnson off the Browns practice squad in 2014. Johnson, in 12 games caught 31 passes for 475 yards and two touchdowns.
Johnson posted on his twitter account a picture of him and Mackenzie with the caption, "I was blessed and honored to meet and help celebrate Mackenzie Moretter birthday today! Thank u so much for having us."
