MENTOR, OH (WOIO) - The
lent a helping hand to
after the seizure of more than 1,000 small animals. The animals were being bred and sold in a pet store, which was actually a small, four-car garage converted into a store. The conditions in which the animals were living in were not healthy or safe.
In late February, LHS took eight female guinea pigs into their care, most of which were pregnant. The LHS provided each of the adults with care they desperately needed. After a few weeks of waiting, guinea pig pups were born.
The LHS currently has 17 baby guinea pigs that are all 1 month old. The babies are ready to leave their mother's side and enter a loving forever home. They will be available for adoption on Sunday, April 26.
LHS is offering reduced adoption fees April 26-30, allowing two guinea pigs to be adopted for $20. To learn more, visit www.lakehumane.org or call the shelter at (440) 951-6122.
