Dad who drove son to fight reaches plea agreement

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - A 39-year-old Akron man reached a plea agreement with prosecutors Friday. Walter Ganous pleaded guilty to inciting to violence and endangering children. His other charges were dismissed.

Prosecutors say on September 12, 2014, Ganous drove his son around the neighborhood in search of another youth. Ganous was caught on cell phone video egging on the fight and encouraging his son to keep hitting the other youth after he was seriously injured.

Ganous's trial was slated to start on Monday, April 27.

Sentencing is set for May 26 at 9 a.m.
