TUSCARAWAS TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - In Tuscarawas Township, several fire departments battled a large fire at a towing and auto repair company at 12271 Barrs Street SW.

According to fire officials, the company's detached garage caught fire around 4:30 p.m. Friday and it spread to the home. Both buildings became fully engulfed in flames.

Fire crews from Brewster, Massillon, Dalton, North Lawrence, Beach City, Wilmot and Bethlehem Township were called for mutual aid. Massillon Fire says they sent a tanker truck because there were no hydrants in the area.

Firefighters had the blaze under control in about two hours, but are still battling hot spots. Officials say there were two explosions while the fire was burning.

One person was transported to Akron Children's Hospital for burns.

Investigators are still working the scene to determine a cause.

Both structures are considered total losses.
