Teen charged in bar robbery & sexual assault of female bartender

Surveillance video shows bartender being attacked

On Saturday, April 26, the Cleveland Police Officers charged a 15-year-old in the Thursday robbery and sexual assault that occurred at a westside bar.

It happened in the afternoon on April 23, at the Closing Room Bar at 13813 Lorain Avenue.

The incident was captured on video.

Investigators say the suspect entered the bar, held a weapon to a female bartender's head, demanded money and touched her inappropriately.

The victim says the teen dragged her in a bathroom and that's where she was sexually assaulted.

The suspect then took her keys and fled in the victim's car.

As he was leaving, he also allegedly struck a trailer at the car lot next door.

Patrol Officers located the victim's silver Toyota Yaris around 9:30 p.m. that night, in the parking lot of the Westown Square Shopping Center on Lorain.

When the suspect and another man got out of the car, officers took them into custody. The victim's car keys were in the suspect's pocket.

On Saturday Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court Judge Denise N. Rini signed an arrest warrant for the teen.

Officers arrested the teen and charged him with aggravated robbery, felonious assault, kidnapping and gross sexual imposition.
