BEREA, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has committed to play in the Second Annual Joe Haden & Friends Celebrity Softball game.
Besides Manziel and Haden, Phil Taylor, Donte Whitner and Justin Gilbert will also be on the team. Additional Browns players will be announced later.
Haden has also already announced many of his friends who compete on other professional football teams will be traveling to Northeast Ohio to play in the event, including: Larry Fitzgerald, Colin Kaepernick, Dez Bryant, Kam Chancellor, AJ Green, LeSean McCoy, Earl Thomas, Mike Pouncey, Maurkice Pouncey, Randall Cobb, Richard Sherman, TJ Ward, Deion Sanders and Tavon Austin.
The game will be held Saturday, June 6, at Classic Park in Eastlake.
The special event will feature a pre-game homerun hitting contest at 6 PM before the 7 PM softball game that will include Haden's teammates playing against professional football players from other teams in a seven-inning contest. Gates will open to the public at 5 PM.

In addition to the Special Olympics, other proceeds from the game, including a softball game-used jersey auction, will benefit the Lake County Captains 501c3 non-profit organization, Captains Charities, which benefits local youth sports and educational programs, the Lake Health Foundation.
