NORTH ROYALTON, OHIO (WOIO) - and the middle school was placed on lockdown Friday morning, after a student found a handgun in holster on the bumper of a car in the high school's parking lot.
The incident began when a student reported what he saw to staff. Officers with the North Royalton Police Department quickly resolved the issue and found there was no threat to the campus.
Police say the owner of the vehicle also owned the handgun and accidentally left it on the back of the vehicle. The owner's child drove that vehicle to school, unaware that it was still on the bumper.
