The stage is set, the
will clash at Quicken Loans Monday night for Game 1 in Round 2 of the NBA Playoffs.
This is the matchup everyone wanted to see, many thought it would be in the Eastern Conference Finals, but seeding prevented that. The Cavaliers have the No. 2 seed, while the Bulls locked up the No. 3 seed.
The Cavaliers swept the Boston Celtics in Round 1 in four games, but it came at a cost, the team lost forward Kevin Love for the rest of the post-season due to a dislocated shoulder. The Bulls didn't have the same success, after going up 3-0 in their series with Milwaukee, the Bucks won two games in a row before having their season end in Game 6. The Bulls won that series 4-2.
The Cavaliers had over a week off while the Bulls wrapped the series up with the Bucks, the rest has been the Cavs best friend since Day 1. They're nearly unstoppable to when they have such rest.
The Cavs wont just be without Love on Monday, guard J.R. Smith will serve the first of a two game suspension for hitting Celtics Jae Crowder in Game 4, meaning he will not play until the Cavaliers head to Chicago for Game 3 on Friday night.
For the Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving and LeBron James have been on a tear, averaging 50 points a game between the two. Jimmy Butler for the Bulls has also been performing well, he averaged 25 points per game in the first round series against the Bucks.
Depending on who you talk to, the Bulls could be the toughest challenge for the Cavs in the post season.
