Dr. Carter G. Woodson is the father of what is now known as Black History Month. He knew that blacks needed to know what benefits they give to the world.
So he gathered facts and began to teach others about the many accomplishments of blacks.
Thing is, since blacks help change the world on a daily basis, there needs to be time outside of February to express the culture and contributions of America's people of color. With that in mind, Alvin Brooks of the Carter G. Woodson project is here to talk about the 5th Annual Unity Day and Parade.
