FAIRVIEW PARK, OH (WOIO) -

Life Flight was called to I-480 eastbound in Fairview Park, after Brian T. Hollingsworth was struck on Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened around 1:15 p.m. on I-480 between Clague and the airport exit. Fairview Park Police and Fire units responded, with assistance from North Olmsted Police and Cleveland Police.

Police are unsure what Hollingsworth, 34, was doing at the time but his car was found nearby. Police say the Middleburg Heights man was hit by a bread truck near the Metroparks bridge. A doctor on the trauma team pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office was notified and responded to the scene.

Police shut down all the lanes except one, while the accident was cleared.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Fairview Park Police are still investigating.
