TWINSBURG, OH (WOIO) -

Twinsburg officers are paying tribute to one of their own killed in the line of duty seven years ago.

Twinsburg police officer Joshua Miktarian was fatally shot in the head in July of 2008. Ashford Thompson was convicted and sentenced to death in June of 2010.

Wednesday there will be a memorial dedication in front of city hall for the placement of a new memorial stone in Miktarian's honor. The ceremony began at 9 a.m. The stone is a 1500 lb granite boulder with a bronze plaque and color photo of Officer Miktarian which tells the story of his EOW.

Milano Monuments placed the boulder at noon.
