PORTAGE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

A man wanted for sex crimes has been captured, after a joint effort by various agencies.

The Portage County Sheriff's Office had been working closely with the Lordstown Police Department and United States Marshals Service in attempting to locate and apprehend Keith A. McCarty. According to Sheriff David Doak, McCarty was apprehended Thursday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m., the sheriff says McCarty was found in a vehicle in the Lordstown area and taken into custody without incident.

McCarty will be transported to the Portage County Jail, where he will be held without bond until his next court hearing, which is yet to be scheduled.

McCarty, 46, was indicted for rape, gross sexual imposition, sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

He was out on bond with GPS monitoring following his arrest, but authorities say he fled the courthouse on June 29.
