Akron police searching for home invasion suspects

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Akron police need help in locating three men accused in a home invasion robbery.

Police say around midnight Tuesday, two residents in the 1000 block of Hardesty Boulevard were robbed. The victims, a 74 and a 57-year-old reported three men, armed with short rifles or sawed off shotguns, kicked in the east side door and came inside their house. 

According to a police report, one man held the victims at gunpoint in the living room, while the other two searched the house. The suspects took an iPad, a purse full of contents, and a cell phone before fleeing. The victims called police.

After officers arrived, a third person who was also at the home told officers the suspects took $2,700 in cash from a suitcase.

The victims described the men in their late 30s early 40s, 5'09" – 6'0" and weighing between 150 and 160 lbs. The men were wearing black masks.
