TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Researchers who've been keeping a close eye on Lake Erie are ready to predict whether they think algae will be a big problem again this summer. It was almost a year ago that toxins from the algae contaminated the drinking water for 400,000 people in northwestern Ohio and southeastern Michigan. The algae forecast for this year is to be revealed Thursday morning.  There already are warnings of another big algae outbreak after heavy rains across northern Ohio washed heavy amounts of algae-feeding phosphorus into the lake. But that doesn't necessarily mean there will be more drinking water trouble. Last year's water crisis in Toledo came after winds pushed a thick concentration of algae on top of the city's water intake pipes. The city also says it's better prepared this time.

SEWARD, AK (KTUU/CNN) - Janet Flanders and her husband were celebrating their anniversary out on the water Sunday, when a group of humpback whales surfaced by their boat. Around a dozen whales emerged from the water at the same time. The couple was also quickly surrounded by sea birds.
