WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

The Warrensville Heights Police Department has raised its reward to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the murder of 49-year-old Marc Lanier.

"We are, once again, asking anyone with any information about the Lanier homicide to contact the police department as soon as possible," said Chief of Police Wesley Haynes. "The department has been working tirelessly to bring this case to a close, but our efforts have not been fruitful. We need the community's help and hope increasing the reward will motivate those who may have crucial information to come forward."

On Jan. 27, Lanier was gunned down in his Warrensville Heights home in the 20000 block of Wickfield Avenue around 12:25 a.m. When police arrived, they found him in the entrance of the front door, shot several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

With no new leads, the case remains under investigation.

Anyone with information that could help police is urged to call the department at 216-581-1234.
