WESTLAKE, OH (WOIO) -

Two Cleveland teens are facing burglary charges after a brief foot pursuit involving Westlake Police.

At 11:25 a.m. on Friday, a Park Place resident reported two males breaking into a neighbor's home through a window.

Westlake, North Olmsted, and Rocky River officers responded as the suspects fled on foot.

Police found a 2013 Honda CRX left at the scene, which had been stolen on June 21 in Cleveland. Police believe it may be connected to burglaries in other Westshore communities.

Around 11:45 a.m., one male was arrested in a backyard on Chapparal Drive.

Just before 12:30 p.m., a homeowner flagged down an officer searching the area on Yeoman Drive. The second suspect was arrested while hiding in a backyard doghouse. A loaded 9 mm handgun was also found inside.

Police say burglary and receiving stolen property charges are pending for the 16 and 17-year-old males.
