Man stops police after being shot in the face

Cleveland Officers were flagged down by a man with blood pouring from his face after he was shot while driving southbound on E. 116th and Union.

Fourth District Detectives say the 19 year old sustained the injury on Saturday, July 11, around 1:30 a.m. The victim, who was driving a blue van, said a gold mercury stopped next to him and someone inside started firing.

He then sped away and realized he was shot in the jaw and left arm.

Police requested EMS and the victim was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center. The victim said he did not see the shooter or occupants of the vehicle.

There is no word on his condition at this time. The matter remains under investigation.
