WILLOUGHBY, OH (WOIO) - An 18-year-old Willoughby man suffered a seizure and was rushed to Lake West Medical Center after reportedly smoking K-2 spice, a type of synthetic marijuana on Thursday morning.
The man is currently in serious condition.
Willoughby Fire Department was called at 10 a.m. on Thursday by the man's mother for her son who was having a seizure on the 34000 block of Euclid Avenue.
A friend told the man's mom that the man had just smoked K-2. The mother informed officials that the friend was requested by her to flush the rest of the drug down the toilet.
Willoughby Fire attempted to use Narcan to help respond the man, but it was unsuccessful. Narcan is a prescription drug that is used to reverse effects of certain types of drugs.
Willoughby Police Department also responded and found no contraband in the man's bedroom. The friend's sister informed police that the man was also smoking K-2 outside the night before but was not aware if he used it on Thursday or not.
The friend denied to police that he told fire personnel that he flushed everything down the toilet. He would not say what happened to the evidence.
Willoughby Police say that the parties involved were hiding something and not very cooperative with their requests. Police found no evidence at the residence.
