LORAIN, OH (WOIO) - A Lorain teen has died hours after he and a friend were involved in a horrific car accident on Kansas Avenue.
Police got the call around 12:42 a.m. They say Zach Goodin was speeding on Kansas Avenue when the 17-year-old lost control while crossing some railroad tracks.
Once across the tracks, the car ran off the road and collided with a utility pole, drove through several front yards, hit a truck then smashed into a house.
Cameron Friend was a passenger in the car. He was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center where he later died.
Goodin was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center then flown to MetroHealth. He remains in critical condition.
Police say alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
