Horseshoe Casino poker dealer accused of skimming chips

A Horseshoe Casino poker dealer is accused of stealing chips while dealing cards.

Officials say as the dealer would pay everyone at the end of a game, he would rake in the rest of the chips for the casino's cut, grab a few extra chips for himself and slide them in as his additional tips.

Gaming agents are always watching and that loss for the casino is considered a crime. Surveillance cameras caught him doing it over and over again.

The Horseshoe Casino played a huge role in catching the scheme after a table games coach became suspicious of the dealer in late June. The dealer then became the target of the investigation because his ranking in overall tip leaders began rising in the poker room. That's when Ohio Casino Control Commission gaming agents stepped in to pinpoint the dealer.

Gaming agents say on July 2, the dealer was again caught stealing chips while he was working. Six gaming agents marched into the poker room and handcuffed the man. He was detained and questioned, but released.

An investigation continues. Criminal charges are expected to be filed soon.
