Investigators with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say a 6-year-old girl and a 45-year-old woman were hurt when a car struck their ATV along Township Road 112 in Seneca County.

Kimberly Zacharias was pushing the ATV in the roadway, and the 6-year-old girl was sitting on the ATV when they were struck by a car driving westbound on TR 112, east of State Route 587.

The accident happened around 9:33 on Friday night.

The little girl was ejected from the ATV. Both her and Zacharias sustained serious injures. They were taken to Fostoria Hospital by Seneca County EMS.

The driver of the car, identified as Jon Barchus, 56, was not injured. His passengers, a 54-year-old woman and 3-year-old boy were also uninjured.

Barchus was charged with assured clear distance and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
