EUCLID, OH (WOIO) - The Euclid Police Department's K9 Chase has received a ballistic vest thanks to a non profit organization. Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., and Deanna Bleckrie, Tucson, AZ resident provided $1900.00 for the vests.
Established in 2009, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a charity located in East Taunton, MA. whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. Each vest costs $950.00 and has a 5 year warranty.
The second vest has been awarded to Owingsville Police Department, KY K9 Searcy. The vests will be embroidered with the sentiment "In memory of Big Jake and Ringo".
