STREETSBORO, OH (WOIO) -

The Ravenna Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal, four-vehicle crash that happened on state Route 43 just north of state Route 14 around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Aurora Police Department was responding to a report of theft from Aurora Farms Premium Outlets, when a Chrysler Pacifica matching the vehicle description fled the scene. Before Aurora Police could catch up to the vehicle, the crash occurred.

The OSHP says the Chrysler Pacifica was traveling southbound on SR 43 when it drove left of center, striking the trailer of a Mack truck. The Chrysler then crossed back into the southbound lanes and struck a Ford Explorer in the rear, forcing it off the roadway. The Chrysler drove left of center again and struck a Freightliner truck head-on.

The Chrysler Pacifica was driven by 34-year-old Frank L. Tindell, of Cleveland, who was critically injured and transported by air ambulance to Akron City Hospital. His passenger, 26-year-old Nadia N. Campbell, of Cleveland, was killed in the crash. The OSHP says neither were wearing their seatbelts.

The driver of the Mack truck, 58-year-old Michael Kalinowski, of Homerville, was uninjured in the crash and was wearing his seatbelt.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, 83-year-old David C. George, of Streetsboro, was wearing his seatbelt, however, he did sustain minor injuries and was transported to Robinson Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the Freightliner truck, 65-year-old Kenneth Bestoe, of Ravenna, was wearing his seatbelt, but also sustained minor injuries and was transported to Robinson Memorial Hospital.
