On Thursday, First District detectives arrested 22-year-old Jeremy Frazier in connection with the kidnapping/attempted rape incident from July 6 on West 98th Street.
Cleveland Police say Frazier was charged with kidnapping and is scheduled to appear in court on Saturday.
Police say the suspect was arrested after detectives were able to identify him through numerous tips from the public.
On July 6 shortly before 8 a.m., a 25-year-old woman reported she was walking in the area of West 98th Street near Cudell Recreation Center on her way to the bus stop. The victim reports she was wearing headphones attached to her cell phone when she was grabbed from behind, with the suspect putting his arm around her neck and pulling a sweatshirt over her head and face. The victim reports being pulled violently to the ground, before the suspect dragged her behind a bush and attempted to rape her. The victim was able to fight her way free and run away. The suspect also fled.
